A network administrator from Lancaster, Pennsylvania...

Brad Rutter

The reigning Tournament of Champions winner, Brad describes himself as cool under pressure and a strategy player. This recent graduate of Johns Hopkins and Lancaster, PA resident holds a degree in network administration but he's putting off the job search "until after the Masters." Like he said: he's a strategy player. Although he credits his success on Jeopardy! to "a lifetime of paying attention," he admits to "actually studying for the tournament this time instead of just watching the show a lot."

Hi, I'm Brad Rutter, reigning Tournament of Champions winner. Watch me participate in Jeopardy!'s Million Dollar tournament, but right now you're watching jeopardy.com.

What is your present occupation?
I'm qualified as a computer network administrator, but I'm currently working in a record store.

What is your fondest memory from your previous appearances on Jeopardy!?
Uh, I think winning the Tournament of Champions was pretty nice. Um, y'know, knowing a $100,000 check was on the way--that was fun.

Any special strategy for the competition?
Um, no, just going to stick to the same strategies that have worked for me so far, and, uh, see how it happens.

How has being on Jeopardy! changed your life?
Uh, I usually have fifty bucks in my wallet now.

He made it to the quarterfinal round, in which he was eliminated from the tournament in his loss to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire $500,000 winner Ogi Ogas.

Brad shared a $600,000 prize with Ethan Brosowsky and his "pub quiz" team comprising Ethan, Brad, Alan Bailey, Jonathan Dinerstein, Adam Stein, and Rebecca Ward on Million Dollar Mind Game aired 2011-11-27. The players met each other at O'Brien's Irish Pub Quiz in Santa Monica, California. The players unanimously opted to end the game at the $600,000 level rather than proceed to the million dollar question and risk losing all their winnings.
