A data modeler from Topeka, Kansas...

Lee Lassiter

Date of first appearance:
January, 2000

Total winnings:
$54,599

Stats:
5-time champion, 5/5 on Final Jeopardy!

Anecdote:
Because I was the first person from Kansas ever to become a 5-time champion, my appearance received quite a bit of media coverage, in the Topeka region of the state, on television and in the newspaper, and people were very supportive and intrigued by the whole venture. I even appeared as the cover article in my alma mater's alumni magazine. It has been five years, and I still have people talk to me about it on a fairly regular basis, and, last fall, during the Ken Jennings appearances, I was asked to do interviews on local TV, radio, and the newspaper for my perspectives on his run and the rules changes.

Winnings usage:
I didn't do any thing really crazy with my winnings (although I did buy myself a snow blower!), but my wife and I did take a trip to Northern, Italy... Venice, Milan, Verona, Ravenna, etc.

Additional information:
I have appeared in over 20 local musical theater productions, including Sweeney in Sweeney Todd, King Arthur in Camelot, the Baker in Into the Woods, John Adams in 1776, and currently, Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha.
