Favorite anecdote associated with being on the show:
Well, let's see. One would have to be someone recognizing me in a men's room. Then there's my buddy Rob who insisted on playing Weird Al Yankovic's "I Lost On Jeopardy!" for two hours straight.

Did being on Jeopardy! change my life?
Outwardly, not a lot, but after my experiences, I am a lot more self confident, and failure isn't such a big fear anymore. After going down in flames on TV, failure is something you get past pretty darn quick. Oh, and I never seem to be able to scare up a friendly game of Trivial Pursuit anymore.

Did I do anything crazy with my winnings?
No, although I did host a pretty classic Jeopardy! viewing party at a local watering hole that wiped out half of my shift at work.

Is there anything else you would like viewers to know about you?
Yeah. I did finish that darn book. It was a piece of historical fiction about naval aviation in World War II. But just as I was in the middle of editing it, my computer suffered a major brain aneurysm thanks to an all too close lightning strike. And no, I did not have a back up, so I am in the process of picking up the pieces on that project. I have also branched out a bit, doing some professional model building. My work has gone to collectors in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia, and soon some pieces will be going into a local museum.

"He was the first to get to the 5-win mark in the 1998-1999 season. A model aircraft engine technician from Champaign, Illinois..."

2005 Ultimate Tournament of Champions Round 1 player: $5,000.
1999 Tournament of Champions semifinalist: $5,000.
Season 15 5-time champion: $51,301 + a Chevrolet Tahoe.

Lance's choice of vehicle was not announced on the show, as the deal with Chevrolet for the season had not been worked out yet. He later traded his Chevy Tahoe for a family van.
