A sophomore from Newtown, Connecticut...

Jeff Haylon

What inspired you to want to compete in the Teen Tournament?
You know, I was always kind of inspired to be on TV, because I'm an actor, and I, you know, I enjoy... I enjoy being in front of people. But, um... a lot--a lot of it is, you know, I--I--I've always loved trivia. I love annoying my friends with it. I love annoying my family with it... they'll tell you that. You know. Yeah, it was just--it was something I've always wanted to do.

If Alex Trebek were a teacher at your school, what subject would he teach?
That's a tricky one. I'd want him to teach history, 'cause that's my favorite subject. Um... Uh, I see him as an English kind of guy, though.

Do you think being on Jeopardy! can help you get into the college of your choice?
Yeah, I think, uh, I think Jeopardy! could help me get into the college that I want to, I mean, it's not--it's a rare opportunity, so, I think it'll look good on an application.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years, um, I'd like to be working, you know, something--something intellectual. You know, uh, a professor. Research. That sort of thing.

Tune in to see who makes the grade and who gets schooled!
