Are any of the college rivals here? Uh, well, we have Harvard in the green room right now, so there's nothing a Columbia man likes to do more than beat Harvard, so, looking forward to a chance at that.
Do you do well when you play at home?
Do I do well when I play along at home? Well, you know, some days I do better than others, but, I think that I'm pretty confident today.
What will you do with your winnings?
What will I do with my winnings? Well I promised all my friends back in the Columbia marching band that I'd buy us a big sailboat and we could sail it up and down the Hudson River, so maybe I'll have enough to do that.

How does it feel to be a semifinalist?
It's surreal. I can't imagine--y'know, I can't describe what it's like to be up here with Alex Trebek actually reading you the questions instead of watching at home. It's incredible.
Tell us about your strategy.
[Shrugs] Buzz often. Buzz early. I mean, y'know, I got lucky with some Daily Doubles. I'm looking forward to seeing if that'll carry over into the next round.
How did you prepare for the College Championship?
Well, I mostly just sat and watched a lot of the show at home. I told my mom it was, y'know, I was preparing for the show, "I'm preparing for the show," but really it was just what I would be doing normally, so...
Any shout outs to your friends and family back home?
I want to tell the Columbia University Marching Band to G(tb)², and I want to tell my brother Nate hello and I love him. I hope he's having a good time watching. |
