How does it feel to be the new Jeopardy! champion?
Uh, winning today, it was just amazing. It's a dream come true. I've been waiting for years. My sister told me I've been doin'--I've been playing this game since I was ten. We used to watch it on TV. And, uh, it's just amazing. It's--it's an incredible feeling... to be here.
How did you prepare for your appearance on Jeopardy!?
Uh, I tried out about two years ago, and then, uh, I would have sheets that I'd take into work, and study off of them when we had some down time. I made just some study sheets--just the basic stuff, so I kept--stuff stayed fresh in my head, 'cause I'm gettin' older now, and the stuff's--it's leavin' my brain faster than I can get it in, so I gotta do what I can.
Any messages to the folks back home?
Uh, I gotta say hi to my wife Diana, let her know, uh, I couldn'ta done it without her. Say hi to my kids. Um, can't wait to get home and see you guys. And, uh, just thanks to everybody that put their time in and asked me questions all the time and peppered me with trivia. It paid off. Thank you. |
