Sidarth was famously the object of a racial slur by incumbent Republican U.S. Senator George Allen of Virginia while Sidarth was videorecording Allen's remarks at a 2006-08-11 "Listening Tour" campaign stop at Breaks Interstate Park in Breaks, Virginia for the campaign of opposing candidate Jim Webb. The ensuing controversy doomed Allen's re-election bid.
