Favorite anecdote associated with being on the show?
I was always surprised when people recognized me from television. One time, I was in the grocery store after going to the gym, and I looked as far from how I looked on Jeopardy! as you can imagine--no make-up, sweaty, hair a mess--and a woman recognized me and called her whole family over to see me. I was flattered, but really wanted to go home and take a shower.

Did being on Jeopardy! have any effect on your life?
Jeopardy! had a huge effect on my life. It enabled me to stop working and spend two years getting my master's degree in public policy. I told people that I was on the Trebek Scholarship. It's also been a great ice-breaker for job interviews.
