Jesse L. Jackson, Jr.

Having grown up on the picket lines of the Civil Rights Movement, Representative Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. is no stranger to politics. In 1995, he was sworn in as a member of the 104th Congress, the 91st African American ever elected to the nation's governing body. His longtime involvement as an anti-apartheid crusader led to him being the only American to share the stage with Nelson Mandela during his historic speech to the world following a 27-year imprisonment in Cape Town.
