An administrative assistant and father from Peoria, Arizona...

Mark Brown

What color is the Jaguar you won?
Uh, they call it topaz. Kinda champagne.

What is your most memorable moment on Jeopardy!?
Um, I thought I had a dramatic moment when I, I think in game 4, I had to bet all my money on a Daily Double, and it came to me at the last second--the answer came to me at the last second. And I made a fool of myself answering the question about, uh, Xena: Warrior Princess, just to get my wife's goat.

What was unique about your compeition?
Uh, just that I don't think they had had a five-game winner for a long time before that, and I was definitely the first five-game winner of Season 19.

How did you prepare for the show?
Yeah, I was pretty obsessive about, uh, studying, uh, different topics, and looking things up on the Internet, and compiling notebooks to, to study again--I got about ten notebooks filled up that way--and I was trying to brush up on old movies, and I filled up about 50 cassette tapes of old movies.

2003 Tournament of Champions semifinalist: $10,000.
Season 19 5-time champion: $68,094 + a topaz Jaguar X-TYPE V6.

Mark died 2013-01-23 at the age of 48.
