A singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California...

Dave Ellis

Hey, L.A., this is singer-songerwriter Dave Ellis. Watch me hit all the right notes, on Jeopardy!

[2010-11-02 Winner's Circle interview]
How does it feel to be the new Jeopardy! champion?
It feels amazing. Um, there's so much excitement that builds up into getting here and being on the show, so now, to win, it's just, like, it's just an amazing feeling.

How did you prepare for your appearance on Jeopardy!?
Um, I watched, uh, well, I've been preparing, I guess, my whole life. I watched, uh, every game show that there is. Jeopardy! and others. Can I say what--the other names? [Maggie Speak: "Sure."] You know, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, Cash Cab, uh, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, all those. And then, um, just a lot of Internet research. Readin' books, tryin'ta quiz myself. Um, every--everything I could think of.

Any messages to the folks back home?
Um, I would like to thank everybody who loves me.

Season 27 1-time champion: $16,000 + $2,000.

Not to be confused with 1992 College Championship quarterfinalist Dave Ellis.
