An 11-year-old sixth grader from Raleigh, North Carolina...

Grace Thomas

What categories do you hope to see on the board?
Um, I like geography. I can name the countries of Africa in a minute, and, I'm, I know pretty much every country. I'm pretty good with that.

Do you have a favorite subject in school?
Um, I wanna, when I grow up, I wanna be a lawyer, and maybe write books on the side, maybe kinda like John Grisham, you know? And, um, so, I like language arts. And... But, geography, they don't really talk about the countries much, so, not really geography as much.

What happened when you found out you were going to be a contestant?
I was actually at the pool, and, like, all my family knew and I didn't know. And this guy walked up with a camera and he said he was filming kids at the pool. And, um, so, I wanted to be on local TV. All of a sudden this newscaster guy told me I was on Jeopardy! And I went ballistic. I was jumping up and down uncontrollably. My dad was there and he was like, "Grace, stay!" I jumped up and down a lot!
