Allen detailed his Jeopardy! experience in a PowerPoint presentation.

Father of Season 31 player Sara Goodman.

Allen famously suffered a $2,000-swing ruling reversal when after repeated review of the audio the judges determined that in his response of "What is Namibia?" he actually pronounced the name of the country as "Nabibia." During the game, Allen protested the ruling, albeit unsuccessfully, and stated that it killed his momentum for the rest of the game. The example of this ruling reversal became a standard warning to contestants in contestant producer Maggie Speak's green room spiel given at the start of each tape day. According to this article, when Allen's daughter Sara heard the story in Maggie's spiel as a contestant herself some years later, she piped up with, "That was my father!"
