A lawyer from Roselle Park, New Jersey...

Bill Pitassy

First appearance:
October 1994

Total winnings:
$72,702 (five days) $5,000 (Tournament of Champions)

Records held:
5-day champ

Favorite anecdote:
In my fifth game the contestant in second place just before Final Jeopardy! was so interested in ensuring that he won the second prize (a satellite TV system) that he bet all his winnings. I bet only enough to tie if he bet all his money and answered correctly. In the end he “lost” $ 20,600, and an opportunity to return the next day.

My appearance on Jeopardy! made me a very temporary celebrity at work and in my town, but that has disappeared over time.

What did you do with your winnings?
I didn't do anything crazy, but did take my family on a first class trip to Kenya.
