Favorite anecdote associated with being on the show?
Two stories--after my shows aired, I got a call from someone who I hadn't seen in years, wanting to borrow money. Also, I received a package of evangelical books from someone from the Midwest, telling me to read the books so I can be saved.

How did being on Jeopardy! affect your life?
Even though it's been 15 years, people still ask me about it--mainly asking if I'm ever going back on (I always tell them that I can't go back on--I guess I was wrong). I guess I know what the lead paragraph in my obituary is going to talk about.

Do anything crazy with winnings:
Unfortunately, no. Maybe if I'd been on when the scores were doubled, I might have. Much of it went towards finishing the basement (which is exactly what I said I would do when I was asked in the tryouts what I would do if I won).

Other info:
There's a certain symmetry to my appearances on the show. When I first taped, my daughter Emily's first birthday party was soon after I got back. The weekend after I get back from this taping will be her Sweet Sixteen party. Also, I guess not too many of my interests have changed since my shows: among the things I talked about with Alex during the interviews were the Orioles, whom I still love but were better then than they are now, and Bruce Springsteen, whom I've seen 16 times since my shows aired. One big change, though, was when I talked with Alex on one of the shows we talked about Emily; two years later came another daughter, Lindsey.
