A junior from Chicago, Illinois...

Frank Firke

What do you like most about Jeopardy!?
Uh--uh... my favorite things are the competition and the combination of wits, knowledge, and reflexes.

How did you prepare for the show?
I prepared by playing a bit of Trivial Pursuit, going through a old book I had about Jeopardy! written by Chuck Forrest, and also looking at a couple of online archives of old questions.

What advice did your friends and family give you?
Uh... have fun and--they told me to have fun and to, uh, go for it all on the Daily Doubles.

What makes a great Jeopardy! contestant?
I think it's the ability to recall knowledge quickly that makes someone really good at Jeopardy!, and that there's lots of people who know a lot of things, but they can't focus the knowledge quickly enough to be good on Jeopardy!

What are you going to do with the winnings?
Uh, I'd like to use it for travel or school of some sort, because I think that if I win a lot then that could really be a good stepping stone for doing a lot of good things and possibly changing my life.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Um... out of college, maybe doing graduate work, maybe working or teaching somewhere. I don't really have a specific idea.
