In 2006, he won the New York Nightlife Award for Outstanding Cabaret Male Vocalist in a Major Engagement, and his long-awaited solo CD debuted on Playbill Records. This summer Mr. Mitchell headlined in the Carnegie Hall presentation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific, which also aired on PBS. He is president of The Actors' Fund of America, which is also his charity of choice.
