A junior at Syracuse University from Olney, Maryland...

Sara Dean

Hi, I'm Sara Dean from Syracuse University, and you're watching me on jeopardy.com.

How did you find out you were chosen as a contestant?
Um, I was actually opening the door to my apartment, and the mailman was standing right outside, and gave me the letter, and I opened it up and was totally shocked. And then I had to go to class, so the entire class I was just, just sitting there in a dazed. But it was really exciting. I told everyone I know, and everyone's excited for me. So... Hopefully I won't disappoint.

How did you prepare for today's game?
I watched Jeopardy!, like, from once I found out I watched it every single day through. I played on Jeopardy! online. And, uh, studied Jeopardy! fact books. Studied the dictionary, the encyclopedia, looked up all sorts of stuff. So hopefully I'm relatively prepared.

What's your major?
Uh, my major is television-radio-film, and I have a undeclared history minor, uh, major, at the moment. But, uh, I'm hoping to work in screenwriting with, uh, feature films, and one day win an Academy Award.

Are you prepared for fame and fortune?
I am prepared for fame and fortune. Bring it on.

Win one for Syracuse University, Sara!
