A junior from Deerfield, Illinois...

Kenny Schlax

What happened when you found out you were going to be a contestant?
Uh, my parents actually found out before me, and they, they surprised me when I came home from school, with balloons and like a, like a formal, like ceremony kind of deal.

What has been the most exciting part of your experience?
Um, seeing the stage. 'Cause, it's, uh, quite a bit different than what I thought it was.

How did you prepare for today?
Uh, I studied a bit, but I had homework and everything to do, so I didn't have much time to take care of that.

Did anyone give you any special advice on playing the game?
Uh, not really. My grandma kept telling me to be myself, so hopefully I can do that.

What will you do with the money if you win big?
Um, I have absolutely no idea, because I don't know what I want to do with my life. So I figure it will help in whatever I want to do.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Um, hopefully, successful in whatever I do, and happy, but I don't know.

Is there anyone you'd like to say "Hi" to?
"Hi" Mom and Dad, and, uh, Grandma and Grandpa, and Kevin and Steven.
